Jean Schack Obituary

Jean K. Schack was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on October 7, 1926, and died on July 13, 2025. She attended public schools in Cape Girardeau, and graduated from Central High School as valedictorian in 1944. Then she graduated from Southeast Missouri State College in 1947.

She was married to Warren R. Schack on October 25, 1946 and they were blessed with 71 years of wedded life. Most of their wedded life was spent in Western Springs, Illinois and Austin, Texas. They moved to Austin, Texas in 1981, to Leawood, Kansas, in January 1985 and returned to Austin, Texas in November of 1990 where she lived until her death.

Jean was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was active in Women's Ministry, Couples Club, volunteered in the Redeemer Gift Shop and was leader of a TLC study group. Throughout her life, she showed a love of church, family, music, and teaching.

She is survived by her son Stephen Schack of Dallas, Texas, son Paul Schack and wife Karen of Lincoln, Nebraska and 3 grandsons, Paul, Peter, and Carl Schack, her brother John Roth and wife Kathy of O'Fallon, Missouri.

A memorial Service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Thursday, July 31st, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas, or Lutheran Hour Ministries or a charity of your choice.
