John Botello Obituary

John Edward Botello Sept. 27, 1949 - Dec. 6, 2008 John Edward Botello, 59 of Austin, joined his Heavenly Father Saturday, December 6, 2008. Born September 27, 1949 in Austin, John was a son of the late John and Celestina Botello. He attended Del Valle High School and was an officer of the U.S. Navy. On July 5, 1969 he was united in marriage to Cristina Rodriguez. John had a career in auto mechanics which he enjoyed. He began tinkering with motors at the age of eleven and the passion grew. He was known by all who knew him as a "great" mechanic. His vehicles were always adjusted from the factory. They were not your ordinary car or truck. John was a loving father and grandfather. He was expecting to be a great-grandfather in January to Isaiah Adam Arismendez. He was loved by many family members and friends. John is survived by his daughter, Jeanette Marie Botello (Ira Williams); two grandchildren, Leanne Marie and Brandon Eric Arismendez (Christina); sisters, Charlotte MacKelvey (Bob), Patricia Botello and Judith Degollado (Trinidad Sr.); brothers, George Botello (Maria), Richard Botello (Stacy), Henry Botello, Miguel Botello (Silvia) and Carlos Botello. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Celestina, brothers Lawrence and Theodore and his wife Cristina. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Govalle Care Center for all of their loving care and support. Recitation of Holy Rosary 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. (South). Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Friday at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel.
