I write as a Hawken classmate of Kane. She made such a vivid impression--full of life, energy, good humor and warmth. I will never forget welcoming her to the Hawken Swim Team, the first young woman on the previously all-male team. It is so profoundly sad to learn of Kane's struggle with ovarian cancer and tragic death at such a young age. With deepest sympathies to Kane's family and a special hug to Mrs. Brown, our beloved teacher at Hawken.

I am so sorry to learn about your loss. My heart aches for the Pierce and Brown families. I know that Sarah Kane was a wonderful sister, wife, mother, and daughter. Sending warmth and condolences your way.
