Kenneth HAMMER Obituary
Kenneth "Ken" Louis Hammer of Niederwald died in a single vehicle accident June 14, 2015. He was 45 years old and born in San Antonio, Texas.
He attended Manchaca Elementary, Bedichek Middle School, Crockett High School, and Austin Community College.
His first wife, Michele Garcia, was the mother of his two sons, Kenneth "Kenny" G. Hammer and Kevin G. Hammer.
Ken later married Sandra Hammer and the two of them reared four wonderful children, Kenny, Kevin, Kelsey Andel, and Mathias Andel. They were like "two peas in a pod." They loved, they argued, and they loved again. Sandra was the love of his life.
Ken was a simple and yet complex person. He read and knew the Bible, but you would not see him in church. He was loud, funny, stubborn, smart (IQ 155), and oh so loving - so loving. He loved his family, especially his two sons whom he was so proud of. Ken enjoyed watching movies with us, camping, cooking on his grill, and other outdoor activities. He could do everything. He could repair cars, mowers, computers, and other electrical devices.
Ken loved animals, especially dogs. He held his old dog, Ash, in his arms for hours until he died. He adopted Hammer later and loved him too.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Hammer, his children Kenny and Kevin Hammer, step-children Kelsey and Mathias Andel, his parents Lynn and Jo Hammer of Manchaca, TX. Also, his siblings Robert Hammer of Dallas, Shannon Lyn Hammer of Manchaca, and Angela Hammer of Austin. His nieces, Alison Montez and Christa Hammer and his only Aunt, Rev. Jean Vincent of Mexia, TX. He will also be missed by his first granddaughter Ashlyn Hammer, daughter of Kenny and Madi.
A Memorial Service, June 20th at 2:00 p.m. will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1314 E. Oltorf, Austin, TX. Rev. Bill Renfro will officiate. A reception will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations in his name be made to the Faith Presbyterian Food Pantry.

On behalf of Eddie Sanchez who knew Ken Hammer, our deepest condolences to the family. Eddie was devastated when he heard the news. He had been missing and was looking for Ken to reach out and find him. Eddie loved and still finds comfort in memories of good times with Ken. I was thinking of you the other day, I was telling the Techs at work "how we never landed on the moon and about "the magical spacesuits that deflect radiation" and how silly it is, that any educated person could believe this. Now I see why you did it. You start telling people we didn't land on the moon, and they get very upset!! It was really fun. We had some good times. I am going to miss you. God Bless.
