Kenneth Perkins Obituary

Kenneth Morris Perkins, 61, of Austin, TX, passed away on December 29, 2023 at the place he loved the most, his ranch. Kenneth was raised in Richardson, TX where his love for animals began at his father's practice, Arapahoe Road Animal Clinic. Kenneth moved to Austin, TX in the 1980s where he worked at local veterinary clinics and met the love of his life, Debbie. Debbie and Kenneth welcomed their son, James, in 1989. Together Debbie and Kenneth opened and ran local dog grooming business, Pampered Pets, for over 30 years where they thrived on making connections and serving their community.

Kenneth was an outdoorsman, hunter, and family man. Kenneth dedicated the last years of his life selflessly caring for his father, Dr. Terry Perkins. He cherished his family, took great pride in being a provider and was upgraded to "grandpa" in November with the birth of his first grandchild. Kenneth had an outspoken personality and an infectious laugh that have created life long memories for his loved ones.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, James (Caroline) and grandson, Brody; father, Dr. Terry Perkins; mother in-law, Suzanne Raker; siblings, Todd (Susi) and Kelley; sister in-law Amy(Don); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janie.

A ceremony will be held to honor Kenneth's life at The Riverbend Remembrance Gardens on January 31st at 1:00 PM.

I'm so sad to hear that Kenneth is longer with us. I loved him dearly as a childhood neighbor and friend. Debbie we met once or twice when we were both pregnant with our firsts. I worked at Crenshaws and saw Kenneth out side y'all's store. I have a lot of regret that we lost touch. My heart goes out to you all.

I was so sorry to read of Kenneth's passing in today's paper. I always enjoyed chatting with him when I dropped off our dogs, and he was always so patient with them. He was a delight to know, and we'll miss him.

Debbie, I am heartbroken to learn of Kenneth's passing. I always loved talking to you both when I would bring my dogs for grooming and missed you all and your wonderful employees so much after you closed. Holding you and your family in my heart during this difficult time.

Debbie and James, we are so sorry to learn of Kenneth's passing. Although we haven't been in touch recently, we hold many good memories of you folks, and especially your kindness during very tough times for us.
I was just looking at that business card with all of you and Simon sitting in the Bluebonnets. We hold you all in our hearts.
All the best.
