Langston GORDON Obituary

GORDON,
Langston Christian
Langston Gordon of Round Rock, age 13, gained his wings on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, after an 8-month battle with brain cancer.
Langston was born on August 19, 2003 in Greenville, South Carolina, to his loving and proud parents, LC and Anita. Langston was a free spirit young man that had a loving heart and a smile that is remembered by everyone who met him. Langston loved traveling, spending time with family (especially younger brother Levias) and friends, going to the YMCA, engaging in sporting activities, and playing the latest electronic games.
In 2006, after a brief stay in Michigan, Langston moved to Round Rock, TX with his family where he attended Old Town Elementary, Harmony School of Political Science & Communication, and Walsh Middle School. Langston loved learning new facts about science and math and would always ask, "Did you know...?" He loved talking to all of his wonderful neighbors and the numerous friends he met in sport leagues and summer camps at the YMCA in Round Rock. While at Walsh Middle School, Langston enjoyed the best time of his brief life, while endearing himself to and leaving a lasting memory with classmates, teachers and staff. Throughout Langston's cancer fight, the entire Walsh Middle School family showed unbelievable love and support for Langston and his family; Langston will forever be a Walsh Wildcat.
Despite a very tough cancer fight, Langston flashed that great smile each day and always showed tremendous strength and determination. His sweet spirit, insightful questions, friendly words, and infectious smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family and friends of Langston would like to send our heartfelt thanks to care providers at Dell Children's Hospital and the Austin Cancer Center, Hidden Glen neighbors, employees at Golfsmith International, and the incredible Walsh Middle School family.
Langston is survived by his; parents, LC and Anita Gordon; brothers, Darius and Levias; sister Alexus; grandfather, LC Gordon, Sr.; godparents, Gregory and Mary Jean Ammons; and his many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his grandmothers, Mattie Mae Gordon and Ane Maile; grandfather, Fitivalevale Harry Maile.

Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Sweet Home Baptist Church, 3200 Sunrise Rd, Round Rock, 78665. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, TX.

Sending our sincere condolences from the Sledge family. I had the pleasure of getting to know Langston while he attended Harmony School of Political Science. He was such a sweet child. He would arrive to my piano class early every single day to help me set up the keyboards for class. He had such a wonderful personality. I will keep his family in my prayers.
