Laura Homeyer Obituary

Laura Homeyer
06/25/1928 - 10/15/2025
Laura Faye (Walston) Homeyer was born in Williamson County, Texas on June 25, 1928, and passed away October 15, 2025. She was the daughter of Arthur and Laura (Box) Walston. She graduated from Briggs High School and after graduation she went to work in Austin. She worked in office management for the Texas Department of Public Safety at their main building in Austin for many years until she retired from there. While working at TDPS a friend of hers introduced her to Buford Homeyer and they were married June 20, 1948. They resided in Austin and had a wonderful life together. She always said that he was the best thing to happen to her. She was the only girl out of five kids, but she could definitely keep up with her brothers. Laura was a faithful member of the Cameron Road Church of Christ in Austin. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Laura Walston, her husband of 60 years, Buford Homeyer and brothers Claudie Walston, Ernest Walston, Lee Walston, and Neal Walston. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
