PHIPPS, Linda Kay
Linda Kay Phipps, of Dripping Springs, Texas - Kay to all her friends, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016. She left this life to go home to be with her Heavenly Father.

Kay was born September 24, 1945, in Eunice, New Mexico. She grew up in Eunice and graduated from Eunice High School in 1963. She met Charlie, the love of her life, in 1963 and they were married February 20, 1965. They moved to Louisiana, and lived there for 21 years. They moved back to Texas in 1988. Kay loved to spend time with her grandchildren, connecting with friends on Facebook, and watching classic movies.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Raymond Phipps; her parents, Milton and Lida Carpenter, and her brother, Buddy Carpenter.

She is survived by her son, Michael "Brian", and his wife, Jeannie, and their daughter, Victoria, of Leander, Texas; and son, Steven "Keith", wife, Kristin, their son Blake, and daughter, Charleigh, of Dripping Springs, Texas. Also surviving is her sister, Betty Walden, of Pennsylvania; and sister-in-law, Betty Jean Carpenter, of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law, Danny Phipps, of Azle, Texas; many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces; and also a great number of friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2016, at Harrell Funeral Home, Hwy. 290 and Heritage Dr. in Dripping Springs.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Dripping Springs United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Bradford officiating. Interment will follow at Phillips Cemetery, Dripping Springs.

Serving as pallbearers are David Carpenter, Daryl Carpenter, Bruce Walden, Wes Mathis, Terry Newnham, and Glenn Taylor.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Buchanan and staff for all their care and concern, Dr. Becker and staff for their continued care for over 25 years, Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and support, the 7th floor nurses at St. David's South Austin Hospital for their encouragement, care and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions may be made to ALS Association.
