Linda Santos Obituary

With profound love and sadness, the family of Linda Lee Santos announces her passing on April 17, 2024 at the age of 55 after a long illness of Fibromyalgia, auto-immune disease, and two years with cancer. Linda was born in Rapid City, South Dakota and grew up in Austin, Texas.

Linda is survived by her beloved mother Edna Piña Santos, brothers Jon Eric Santos Sr., MichaelSantos; her niece Joanna, and nephews Jon Jr and Justin Santos.

Linda is preceded in death by her father, Juan Santos; her grandparents Gregorio Pina Jr. & Maria Santos Idrogo Piña, Mr. Antonio Santos & Natalia Aguilar Santos, and Mrs. GuadalupeSaldana.

Linda attended the University of Oklahoma Price College of Business with an MBA, Accounting, and Information Systems and a BBA Accounting Management and twice served as valedictorian. She worked for IBM for fifteen years in Cloud Security and Compliance Architect as an IT Architect- Systems Engineering and Program Manager.

Linda traveled the world and enjoyed scuba diving, mountain climbing, rowing, biking, meeting new people during her travels, and loved literature. She volunteered with National Geographic to assist with a research project in Africa. In Costa Rica while scuba diving, she earned the name of Malaika meaning "angel" and "beautiful".

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 25th, from 5pm-9pm at Eternal Peace Funeral Home,16912 N. Interstate Hwy 35. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30p.m. On Thursday, April 26, a service Requiem Mass will be held at St. Louis, King of France Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Rd. at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel.

Following the mass service, Interment will be at Our Lady of the Rosary cemetery, 330 Berry Ln in Georgetown, Tx. Linda, an environmentalist, will have a green burial.

Linda was surrounded by so much love from her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends during her brief stay at Christopher House of Austin. She dearly loved her pups Otis and Gigi.

Our sincere thanks to the many doctors that treated her, staff at Christopher House, Hospice Austin; Outbound Minister, Janie Vernengo from St. Louis Church and her many friends and family that supported her throughout her illness.

Flowers may be sent to the funeral home or a donation may be made to ALS or American Cancer Society.
