My sincere condolences. Dr. Cressman did my back surgery in 1999. He was a professional and compassionate doctor but, also a very nice person. He left quite a legacy.

Dr. Crossman was my favorite doctor, even though he scared me at first!! We became great buddies and had a lot of laughs together. I cried when we moved to Dallas and I had to find another neurosurgeon. I'll never forget him and so sorry I only found this obituary today.

My sincere sympathies to Dr. Marvin Cressman´s family.
I had the fortune to be operated by him in 1991 of a herniated disc.
He had the patience to explain to me the procedure he was about to performed looking at my anatomy book.
He was amused after the operation when he gave me a bottle of pain medication, and I told him I will bring it back unused.
I told him that his sound advise will be followed along with a `juicing protocol´ and no pain killers.
I fulfilled my promise!
I am well now thirty years later.
Thank you Dr. Cressman.

I will always remember Dr. Cressman as being a caring doctor.
He performed a herniated disc operation on me and had all the patience to explain to me the procedure looking at my anatomy book.
He was very pleased of my keen interest on what was going to be done. He was amused also when I returned his pain killer medication completely untouched. I promised him I will recover with a good juicing protocol and his sound advise.
It has been thirty years and I am fine!
Thank you Dr. Cressman

Dr Cressman removed a brain tumour from me in 1992 and from my husband in 1994. We were living in the States from Britain and knew no-one . Dr Cressman was a wonderfully reassuring man and a great surgeon. We developed a great rapport and we found him very inspiring. I think of him often and am so grateful he was there for us when we were so far from home.

We are saddened by the loss of Dr. Cressman. He performed brain surgery on our daughter Wendy in 1995 giving her more years of life. She passed in 2011 and we are thankful to Dr. Cressman for that time.

I had worked with Dr. Cressman, (as a Surgical Technologist) for many years at Brackenridge Hospital, Austin,TX, I have never forgotten his humor, and his compassion for every patient he had. After 30 years as a Surgical PA, I can say that he was by far the most talented Neurosurgeon I have ever had the privilege to work for. I have often thought of the DR, who I referred to as "Uncle Marvie" during those surgeries when he was assisted by his friend and fellow surgeon, who I called "Uncle Albert"(Dr. Albert La Londe). There was never a time when I felt as though I was working, instead I was spending my surgical work days learning & laughing.
Thank you Dr. Cressman for all you did, service you gave and being one of the most honorable men I have known.

I think of him and his colleague Dr. LaLonde quite often. Over 30 years ago they did an operation on my spine that gave me back my life. I've been forever grateful. And I also appreciated his rather droll sense of humor. So many other people he helped over his long career must have similar feelings.

I am saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Cressman. Marvin and I were classmates in Jr. High and Allentown (PA) High School, class of AHS '51. He was a strong and serious student, member of the Honor Society, Engineers' Club, and varsity wrestling team with the goal of becoming a neurologist. Although our paths separated after graduation we frequently met again at AHS class reunions, most recently our 65th in October 2016. It was clear that despite his modesty he had met with great success in his field. The loss that his family feels at this time is surely comforted by the wonderful remembrances of his many patients and friends.

I am so sorry to read of Dr. Cressman's passing. I am surprised to see other messages very much like what I was wanting to say. I was just thinking of him and Googled him only to see he has just recently passed away. I was a patient of his from back in 1985. I had a question for him but now know I won't be able to ask him. Again so sorry for his passing. Please give my condolences to his family.

To the Cressman family. You have my deepest sympathy and I am so sorry for your loss. For some unknown reason I had been thinking about Dr. Cressman this week. I decided to google him today and was saddened to see his obituary. Your father was a brilliant and generous doctor. I Met Dr. Creesman while working as an RN in the neurosurgery unit at Brackenridge Hospital in the early 70s. He had this wonderful bedside manner and really was passionate about his work and cared for his patients and their families. He will forever be remembered by all those whose lives he touched.

I would like to add my sympathy for your loss. It was a pleasure to have known Marvin. I had heard of him before coming to Austin. The Army radiologists at AFIP spoke fondly of him. He taught them neuroradiology at Tripler. I remember many pleasant days visiting with him and Albert at Holy Cross surgical lounge. I called him my neurosurgeon although I never needed him. I did buy lots of hay for my horses from him. He was an excellent doctor and a great guy.

Dr. Cressman was my first neurosurgeon at Walter Reed Army Hospital, in 1964, when I was 5yrs old. I am truly sorry for your loss!
I was in Austin, Texas in 1988, and would have loved to have visited with him in San Antonio.

My prayers and sympathy for the loss of your loved one. Dr. Cressman and Dr. LaLonde operated on me in March 2003. He literally saved my life being that my complication during surgery he had only seen once before in his career. He told me I was a text book case. He was a great man and I am thankful each day for him. God bless him and the family.

Fine doctor, great man. He and Dr. Lalonde gave me back my life over 30 years ago, with their surgery on my spine. Dr. Cressman was such a nice man, and I appreciated his keen sense of humor. I've always been grateful.

Dr. Cressman was a jewel of a man, always professional & highly respected as a great Neuro Surgeon in Austin. I worked with him for many years in the OR at Seton Medical Center. He never hesitated learning new technologies for the advancement of neuro surgery. He will be missed dearly.
I regret not being able to attend the funeral.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. In loving memory of a wonderful person and warm and excellent doctor; saved my life, twice, in brain tumor surgeries. He is the very definition of "Success" by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Rest in Peace, Dr. Cressman.
