Retired Command Sergeant Major Melvin Dixon Sr., 86, of Pflugerville, Texas, passed away on November 6, 2025. Born April 30, 1939, in Hutto, he was the youngest child of Morise Dixon Sr. and Arichard Green-Dixon. He accepted Christ at an early age at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
CSM Dixon proudly served 30 years in the U.S. Army, earning the rank of Command Sergeant Major and receiving multiple honors, including the Vietnam Service Medal with Three Bronze Service Stars. After military retirement, he continued serving through the Department of the Army and later became a successful businessman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lillian Dixon; his parents; son Timothy Lamone Dixon; sister Clara Wright; and brothers Horace Dixon and Morise Dixon Jr.
He is survived by his sons Melvin Dixon Jr. and Alonzo Dixon (Sherlyn); daughter Dr. Bonita Owens (Atrell); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends.
He is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
