Meredith Johnson Obituary

Meredith Lynn Johnson of Pflugerville, Texas spent her final days surrounded by love. She passed peacefully in her sleep on April 30, 2023 with her mother by her side. She was 45 years old.

Meredith was born in Houston, Texas on February 8, 1978. She was a vibrant and social person who never met a stranger. She had a sweet, pure, and loving nature. Family, friends, and her pets were everything to her. Meredith was the family historian. She loved to share family stories and the latest antics of her beloved pets with everyone. Relationships meant a lot to Meredith. She knew and reminded us all of everyone's birthdays. When she saw a friend or family member she was quick to ask how they were and where or how was every member of their family.

Meredith loved music, TV, and movies. She would watch her favorite movies over and over again. She had a rich imagination, often pretending she was a character in her favorite storylines. Meredith was an accomplished Special Olympics athlete, winning metal after metal. She competed in track and field, volleyball, baseball, and bowling to name a few. Meredith was awarded the 1998 Female Athlete of the Year.

Meredith is lovingly remembered by her mother Sandra Johnson of Pflugerville, Texas, her sister Heather Vikstedt, brother-in-law Jari Vikstedt, and niece Rachel Vikstedt, of Georgetown, Texas, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous beloved friends. She is preceded in death by her brother Sean Johnson, her grandparents J.R. and Ruth Young, and grandparents Irvin and Virginia Johnson. Meredith's life will be honored and celebrated in a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Century Hospice and BIG (Brookwood in Georgetown).
