Dianna,
Marie and I want to express our deepest sympathy to you and your family at Mike's passing. He was like a brother to both of us dating back to our time at Edwards AFB and we too will miss his gentle spirit and compassionate heart. We consider it a privilege to have been able to reconnect with him, and through him with you, as part of the Edwards reunion group. We hope to keep in touch with you in the years ahead. May God bless and keep you.

Mike was an integral part of my "IBM family" for several years. He was a genuinely good man as well as a wonderful co-worker and friend. I know he will be missed by all who knew him.

i met Mike when a mutual friend who worked with him at IBM brought him along for a lunch outing one day. He was utterly delightful and for some reason, we forged a friendship that day which lasted for many years. We shared many laughs and a few tears along the way and he was such a good friend during some of my roughest times. I will always love and appreciate the man he was. I know his family isn't surprised to know that their loved one had a such a huge heart but I just wanted to say that his presence on earth was a gift to so many.

As far as I can remember, Mike was a friend/co-worker of my father at IBM. While it's been a long time since I saw him, I mostly remember him as simply being a good and honest man. My sympathies to all his family and friends on such a sad day.

Condolences to the family. Mike was in the group of product planners I was secretary for as a new hire to IBM in 1978. Some of us would got out for lunch (Vietnamese) a few times a month. He was always the gentleman, bringing smiles to those he came in contact with.

Sir Knight Michael Banks' quiet, giving, gentlemanly personality and effective demeaner and contributions will not be forgotten. Our relationship began years ago when we worked on a major fund-raiser for our church. I will be forever grateful for that extraordinary and unforgettable experience and also for the others wonderful ones which followed. You have worked hard, Brother, and earned your rest with our Saviour. May you rest in peace!

Dr. Burns,
You don't know me. My name is Ramiro (Ray)Balli and I knew Mike from the early 1970's when I was working for IBM. I was his Spanish teacher for a couple of years while at IBM. This was after working hours and the classroom setting was at IBM. Mike was so enthused to learn Spanish due to his job that was in sales. There were other folks in sales that were colleagues of Mike, they also took the Spanish course. To tell you that we had a hilarious time, we did. Mike made it fun. They (Mike) convinced me that their interest was conversation Spanish, not book Spanish, like, adj., verbs, etc. It was like, how do I ask for a beer in Spanish or where is the bathroom. I have always thought about Mike and where he was, but now I know that he found his home in heaven, with our Lord. Please accept my deepest condolences.
I remain,
Ray Balli
