Michael Kaufman Obituary

Michael Robert Kaufman, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024. Born in Taylor, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Helen and Mike Kaufman.

Michael was a graduate of Taylor High School in Taylor, Pennsylvania, Blinn College in Brenham, Texas, and the University of Texas at Austin.

He served our country in the U.S. Air Force and spent his career as a computer programmer for the University of Texas and the City of Austin before retiring in 2001.

Michael was preceded in death by his brother, John, and his parents, Helen and Mike Kaufman.

He is survived by his wife of many years, Kelli Baxter; son, Marcus Goss, of New Braunfels, Texas; sister, Judy Tymczyn, of Henderson, Nevada; and nephew, Michael John Tymczyn (and wife Jennifer) of Henderson, Nevada.

The few times I had the pleasure to be in Michael's company was time well spent. His sense of humor was raw and jarring. I would laugh until my sides ached at his frank observations of the world around him. Michael, you will be missed. Happy transition to the other side.
