Nancy Ryall Obituary

Nancy Michele Ryall, age 58, passed away peacefully in Austin, Texas, on May 17, 2025, spending her final weeks surrounded by family, friends and beloved pets. Nancy was born on December 3, 1966 in Fairfax, Virginia to Zacheus W. Ryall Jr and Mary Evelyn Ryall. The daughter of an Air Force pilot, Nancy spent her early childhood in South Carolina, Germany and White Sands, New Mexico. Austin Texas became her home in 1976. She loved the outdoors, including camping, fishing and horseback riding. She delighted in routinely catching more and larger fish than her father.

Nancy attended Austin High School and once in the workforce excelled at customer service. She was proud that some of her clients often insisted on Nancy handling their business. In 2004, she gave birth to her daughter Lauren Evelyn. Nancy was Lauren's (Ray's) greatest cheerleader and supporter in everything he did, from riding a bike, to performing in choir to achieving his black belt in karate.

Nancy bravely fought cancer for several years, and during treatment continued to enjoy camping and traveling with Ray and her service dog Lillipup. Many wonderful memories were made in recent years visiting and hosting family from California and Wisconsin. Nancy will be remembered as a beloved sister and devoted mother who was a loyal friend with a great sense of humor.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Zach and Evelyn Ryall, and brother-in-law Doug Clapp. She is survived by her child, Ray Ryall, sister Patti Ryall Clapp and brother Zach Ryall (Kathlyn Dailey) and Ken Ryall (Sandy Kearns). She is also survived by nieces and nephews Katie Raquel (Derek), Haley Schilawski (Weston), Devin Clapp, Timothy Dailey, and Lily and Max Ryall.

The family wishes to thank Jennifer Sizer of Hope and Grace Hospice, and the caretakers of Comfort Keepers for their compassionate care.

A graveside service will be held at Austin Memorial Park at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 24. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
