Nicholas Drury Obituary

Nicholas "Nick" Allen Drury, 84, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, in Austin, Texas. Born October 26, 1940, in Chicago, he was a proud St. Rita High School graduate, U.S. Army veteran, and Loyola University alumnus who became a CPA and longtime controller for Lumberman's Investment Corporation and Temple-Inland.
In 1965, Nick married the love of his life, Frances "Kelly" Carey, sharing 59 wonderful years. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he embraced adventure and laughter, traveling all 50 states and Europe, and spending many summers in Vancouver.
Nick was passionate about sports and was a long-time diehard fan of the Chicago White Sox, Notre Dame, and the Texas Longhorns. He is survived by his wife, Frances; daughters Cheryl Jackson (Jeff) and Erin Honts (Rob); grandchildren Kimberly Gordon (Colton), Scott Jackson (Madison), Kelly Honts, and Rachel Honts; great-grandchildren Kaylin Gordon and Jaxon Gordon; and brother Tom Drury (Cheryl). He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Marie Drury.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 5 at 1 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Austin, Texas.
