Patricia CUTHBERTSON Obituary

CUTHBERTSON,
Patricia Gough
Patricia Gough Cuthbertson, 59, passed away on May 1, 2016, in Austin. Pat, originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, attended Incarnate Word Academy ('74). She moved to Austin in 1976 and earned a Bachelor of Social Work ('78), and Master of Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs ('84) at the University of Texas. It was in Austin she met her husband Wayne, bought a home, and raised her two children. Pat's greatest happiness was her family and friends, and we continue to celebrate her life and spirit with joy.

Through her work for the City of Austin, AMD, and with non-profit organizations and private schools, she established a reputation as an outspoken, honest, and passionate member of the local community. An avid writer, with generosity matched only by her tenacity, Pat never missed an opportunity to send a personal note. Her sense of humor and her sincerity were evident in every conversation and correspondence. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched.

Pat is preceded in death by her father, Robert M. Gough, and mother, Neva-Lee Knight Gough. Pat is survived by her husband of 34 years, Wayne, and son David of Austin; daughter Evan (Cade) Humphries of San Marcos; brother Robert (Donna) Gough, and sister Meg Gough Gibson, all of Corpus Christi; as well as multiple nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Rosary will be recited Saturday, May 14, at 10:30am, at the Incarnate Word Academy Chapel, 2920 S Alameda St., in Corpus Christi, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held there at 11:00am, with a reception to follow at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 3350 S Alameda St. Interment will be at Seaside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 4357 Ocean Dr., at 2:30pm.

Pat would have been 60 on June 22, and was never one to miss a good party, so on June 26th, 2016, from 4:00-8:00pm, a Celebration of Life will be held in Austin at the Zilker Clubhouse for all who Pat touched.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Incarnate Word Academy (Corpus Christi) In Memory of Patricia Gough Cuthbertson.

I was fortunate to work with Pat over our many years at the City of Austin. She was a class act.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
