Christy and the Harris family, I was sad to hear of Paul's passing. Growing up as a neighbor to the family, Paul was always someone that would take time to talk to all of Christy's friends and such an understanding parent. He loved his Christy!!! Rest In Peace.

Paul and I met at Schreiner Institute January 1964, West Barracks, Kerrville, Texas. Along with mischief as teenage boys could not resist, we spent many weekends campused, having to sign a register every hour to prove we were on a short leash. Our salvation resided in Gin Rummy, which Paul trounced me to the tune of many dollars which, over the years grew to rival the Texas State budget. Inflation, you know. And then Saturday afternoon college football games... We played hooky Friday afternoons drinking beer at Les Ami in Austin. And then we would meander to Stacy Pool and Deep Eddy. Many of our deeds will remain secret locked in my heart. I miss him to this day. Love you forever brother, Ricky Wright from Cleburne, Texas. (just to show that I'm forgetful, I read most of these words below!) Oh, well. My heart holds only warm feelings for you..

I will always remember the stimulating conversations with Paul at Les Amis cafe. It was a privilege to have known him and I miss him terribly already. Rest in peace, my friend.

Paul was a best friend; we met at Schreiner Institute, January 1964, Kerrville, Texas. We wiled away many hours at Stacy Pool and watching the Longhorns' football, plus Friday afternoons at Lès Ami on 24th St. I will miss him as long as I live. Ricky Wright

I so enjoyed working with Paul for Sen. Frank Lombardino of San Antonio from 1975-1979. He was smart, funny and kind. Over the years we would run into each other and tried to keep in touch. My condolences to his family and wonder if little Christy remembers me teaching her little songs?

Paul was a dear man, and the best of the best At rules and procedures of the Legislature. A terrific Chief Clerk for the House Committee on Elections, his work, preparation and responsiveness was treasured by all Members of both Parties in what was then the most collaborative Committee in the House - that collaboration and productivity due in huge measure to his patience and fundamental fairness. He made Texas a better State! Debra Danburg, Fmr. Chair, House Committee on Elections.
