Ralph Whittlesey Obituary

Ralph Louis Whittlesey, 71, of Austin, passed away on July 9, 2023.

Ralph was born July 24, 1951 to Ralph Robert and Pearl Marie Whittlesey in Luling, Tx. Ralph attended McCallum High School, Austin. At a young age Ralph worked at Safeway and Kash-Karry grocery stores to make money for his family. Ralph and his two younger brothers began mowing lawns, clearing lots and landscaping then eventually began their own business, Whittlesey Brothers. Ralph drove trucks and made deliveries all over Austin and surrounding areas for 50 years. Ralph was an integral part of the history and success of Whittlesey Landscape Supplies. He was dependable, a hard worker and someone who never met a stranger. He enjoyed conversations and laughs with employees and customers. He was an avid outdoorsman and will be truly missed by so many.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, James Russell Whittlesey of Round Rock. Two brothers, Patrick and wife Ana of Leander, Clayton and wife Beverly of Marble Falls. Two nieces, Brooke and husband Dakota Smith of Liberty Hill, and Kristin Whittlesey of Austin. Two nephews, Blake and wife Kimberly of Liberty Hill and Brandon Whittlesey of San Marcos. Also 5 great-nieces and nephews, former spouse, Robertina P. Whittlesey of Round Rock and his life partner, Lisa Soape of Austin.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday July 23, 2023 @ 5:00pm at Fellowship Church: 3600 RM-1869, Liberty Hill, Tx. 78642.
