Ramon Conn Obituary

(04/07/2003) Ramon N. Conn, 68, of Round Rock, died Friday, April 4th, 2003 at a local nursing home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 7th at the Trinity Lutheran Home Chapel in Round Rock. Ramon was born July 20, 1934 in Granger, Texas to the late Henry Foy Conn and Nellie Mae England. He met Marie Johnson from Hutto, Texas in 1952, they were married February 22, 1954 at the Hutto Lutheran Church in Hutto. Ramon spent many of his early years as a projectionist for Taylor Amusement Co. running the movie projectors for many of the theaters in the Taylor area. After a brief stint in the west Texas oil fields, he moved to Elgin where he delivered milk door- to-door for the Carnation Milk Company for many years. He later spent 18 years with Continental Airlines before retiring to help run the family floral business, Bo-Kay Florist in Round Rock. Ramon is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marie Johnson Conn; daughters, Lynn Gray of Round Rock and Cathy Hale of Brownwood; a son, Darryl Conn of Arlington; sisters, Henrietta Goolsby, Lucille Mokry, Mary Lou Lafler, Irene Alexander, and Shirley Creppon; brothers, Thomas Conn and Jerry Conn; grandchildren, Jason Gray, Chris Conn, Kimberly Simpson, Amy Gray, and Kenny Nabers; great- grandchildren, Shelby Gray, Tyler Simpson, and Ethan Burt.
