Roberto Lucio Obituary

Roberto R. Lucio, age 86, of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. He was born in Harlingen, Texas, on July 17, 1938. He graduated from Harlingen High School, after which he served in the Army for two years. He was married to Socorro Carolina Guerra on July 30, 1966, then dedicated himself to a long and fulfilling career as a firefighter for the Austin Fire Department, retiring as a Lieutenant after 27 years.

Roberto's passion was family and service to others. He is remembered as being humble and selfless, working hard to put a smile on everyone's face and brighten their day. His laughter was infectious and his storytelling unrivaled. The consummate good neighbor, he was the first to lend a hand when someone needed it, before they could even ask. There wasn't a Thanksgiving that went by that he didn't make extra plates to take to neighbors or friends who were without. He often worked extra jobs just so that he could use that money to purchase things for others. He modeled humility, a strong work ethic, and a love of community.

He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Guadalupe Lucio, and 12 of his siblings (Maria Galindo, Preciliano Lucio, Lorenzo Lucio, Augustin Lucio, Francisco Lucio, Josefa Garcia, Rita Alejandre, Manuel Lucio, Lile Rodriguez, Juan Lucio, Ramiro Lucio, and Severa Padilla). He is survived by his beloved sister Guadalupe Flores, his wife, Socorro Lucio, and his daughters Stefanie Lucio-Herrmann (son-in-law Christopher Herrmann and grandsons Lucas and Noah Herrmann) and Stella Mulhollan (son-in-law Kelly Mulhollan and granddaughters Catalina and Pacey Mulhollan).

The family would like to thank the care teams of Avalon Memory Care and Aspen Hospice for their devotion to his needs these recent months.

The funeral service will be held privately, and the family look forward to holding a life celebration in the future.

You loved us well and we will miss you more than words can convey. You will live on in our hearts always. We will honor your legacy not only through thoughts but also in acts of service to others. We love you.
