I will always be grateful to Mr. Barshop, as he gave me the opportunity to start my professional career with the great company that he founded "La Qunita Motor Inns". The experience that I gained while employed there was invaluable. My interactions with Mr. Barshop were always insightful and educational. You were a great individual and will always been held in high regards. My prayers go out to the family.

My Dear Ann, Bruce and Colleen, Jamie, Samantha and Zeb, Ben,and Julenne; The best part of moving to San Antonio was meeting the Barshop family. I met a man in Sam who moved mountains in the business world while reaching out to the poorest among us. He changed many lives because of his big heart, vision and philanthropy. He has touched the lives of those who know him and the lives of those who don't know him because of what he has given the world. We are all better because he lived. I love you all and will miss Sam tremendously.

Papa: You Were the father who taught me that true wealth went beyond having a Gucci bag -or driving expensive cars. Rrather it was in becoming a person with goals to make the world a better place by giving back. Your accomplishments are numerous and most of them involve service to others. I won't forget this important lesson Papa and I will forever hold you in my heart.
