Todd Duncan Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

Todd Daniel Duncan Todd Daniel Duncan of Leander, Texas was born March 2, 1985, to Randall and Denesia Duncan in Tucson, Arizona. He moved to Leander at 18 months of age with his family. Todd was taken to be with his Lord on August 14, 2005; rests in Jesus now, risen to victory.....soon. He was a loving, caring son and most importantly an awesome brother to Matthew and a loving protector to his little sister, Cara. He touched many people's lives in a very unique way. He was a faithful friend to everyone he met. A friend of Todd's was a friend forever, and everyone was Todd's friend. Todd attended Leander High School where he participated on the wrestling team for two years. He loved athletics and participated on a championship cheer team for three years. Todd had a passion for the outdoors and loved God's beautiful creation. He was an expert fisherman, who frequently put his father to shame on the local lakes....Dad was thrilled every time. Of the many wonderful things that can be said of Todd, most important is that he knew his LORD Jesus Christ. Todd came to know Jesus as his savior at the tender age of six, having been raised up in his church home, New Hope Baptist Church in Cedar Park, Texas. Todd was stricken with Diabetes Thanksgiving week of 2001 and departed only four short years later due to complications from his disease. Though his family and friends grieve his passing, they take comfort that he rests in the arms of the savior who gave all for him. In the arms of Jesus, there will be no pain; no more blood tests, and no more insulin injections. "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethern, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as those who have no hope (1 Th 4.13)"....Sleep well in Jesus, dear son. We will see you soon. We know that what God promises, he delivers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 18, 2005, at Beck Funeral Home, 1700 East FM 1431, Cedar Park. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2005, at New Hope Baptist Church, 200 West New Hope Rd., Cedar Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Todd Daniel Duncan Diabetic Scholarship Fund, Leander Independent School District, P.O. Box 218, Leander, TX. 78646. Arrangements under the direction of Beck Funeral Home, Cedar Park/Leander 259-1610.

Todd is my nephew. His father Randy is my big brother. Even though a little time has past since Todd died, it still hurts and seems so senseless. He was so young and strong....and now he is gone. If you have diabetes or know someone who does PLEASE take this disease seriously. I think that's what Todd would tell you if he was alive today.

I consider Todd my special angel. The other grand kids, especially Matt was always joking that Todd was my favorite. He will alway hold a special place in my heart. He was alway a joy to be around. I would have him show me and grandpa his muscles. I Love you Matt and Cara. You are very special to me also

I had many classes with Todd in high school, & he was such a great guy to be around. He always knew how to make me laugh, (and we had some great laughs)! He came up with some of the cornest but funniest (to him) nicknames for me that only Todd would think of. (i.e. He used to call me Christopher Columbus, because my initials were CC, & birds nest, because my hair is curly). He was also very sweet, If you asked him for a favor, like a ride home, even if it was out of his way, he would give you a ride. He helped me out a few times. Little things like that still make me smile & I will never forget him, or the good times we had together. It hurts to hear about the news, because I lost touch with Todd after he graduated, & I didn't find out about what happened, until Labor Day weekend. I am so sorry for your loss, and I will keep your family in my prayers. God Bless!

I knew Todd as one of the kids in the neighborhood who everytime he drove by, would honk, but more than likely stop and chat where we would procede to give each other a hard time. I last saw him at HEB, buying fish for a fish fry, which I kiddingly said that I now knew his secret to catching so many fish. Unfortunately for myself, his family, friends and the rest of the world, he left us a few days later. I will definetely miss him.

I am so sorry to hear this. I had many classes with Todd in school and I was friends with him. I lost touch with him in 2002 and had seen him around town. We say Hi and and that was it. I feel for you and I know he is Good hands now.

Toddie was an amazing guy, and always a joy to be around. I will miss him so much, but I know that he is even happier now with the Lord! His family is so strong in faith, and they raised a great young man. Matthew Aaron, i love you so much, and I can't help but think of how hard this is on you. You are a rock, and I look up to you for being so strong for your family. I remember Toddie riding with me to Wendy's one night after church...he opened my glove box, and took out the $5 I kept in there for emergency gas, he didn't have any cash, and he wanted something to eat. After dinner, he put $3 change back in the glove box...i still have it. Now it will remind me to pray for Matt, Cara, Randy and Deniesa...and it will also remind me of Toddie's life that was full of love and laughter. He touched so many lives in so many ways. I celebrate the awesome memories I hold in my heart of him, and I know i will see is sweet smile, and radiant eyes...and get to hug him again someday.

In high school we called him hottie toddie, because all the young cheerleaders asked us about him and said how "hot" he was. He was a great kid with one of those "million dollar smiles." Matt his older brother and I were best friends, and I loved embarrassing him with Matt in the hallways of Leander High. His face would turn bright red when we would yell out "hottie toddie" he was like the little brother I never had to tease. He was like family. Any family of Matt's seemed to be family to me. My heart sinks as I search for what to say on such an occasion, but alas no words can console you in this tragedy! If such words existed I'm sure they would have been said thousands of times by now. Nobody knows what god's plan is, all we can do is have faith in the fact that he knows what he is doing, And believe in the direction he sends us. Matt Duncan I love you with all my heart and I am always here for you. God bless. Love Georgia M. Stanley

Todd was a great person inside and out...so genuine. He always went out of his way to come and say hello. People were naturally drawn to him. I miss him more than words can say. Todd will be missed, his sweet personality will not soon be forgotten. My prayers go out to the rest of his friends and his family. God Bless.

We are Jenifer's grandparents and know how close Todd and Jenifer were. We did not know Todd that well but were able to join Todd and Jenifer in an outing once and enjoyed him greatly. There are few words to comfort your family at this great loss but time and love will heal. We are so sorry for your loss.

I have known Todd for a long time. His family and him used to live right next door to me in Oak Ridge. They were one of the first people I met once we moved there about 17 years ago. I am very sorry to hear about this lost. My little sister, she was 14 just passed away on July 19 of this year so I know how ya'll must feel. If you need anything, please stop by. I live in the same house on Spring Hollow. Once again I am very sorry for your loss, I know it is something hard to deal with.
