Victoria Porfirio Obituary

Victoria Maxey Porfirio Victoria Maxey Porfirio, born on January 25, 1921 in Austin, passed away on July 17, 2011 at St. David's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Albert Cecil Porfirio. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Guerin of Greenback, Tennessee; and children, James Porfirio of Georgetown, Texas, Mary Porfirio Caprez of Tallmadge, Ohio, and Gary Vance Porfirio of Austin, Texas; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great- grandson. She attended school in AISD. She loved and sacrificed with her whole heart for her husband and three children. She will be truly missed. She didn't know how to give up even under the hardest circumstances. She showed that strength in her last hours- fighting to live till God said "Time to come Home." In lieu of flowers send donation to Saint Mary Cathedral Building Fund. A visitation will be held on Thursday, the 21st of July from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar. The recitation of the Rosary will begin at half past six. The mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Friday, the 22nd of July at half past nine in the morning at Saint Mary Cathedral, 203 E. 10th St., Austin, TX 78701. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Tributes may be made at www.cookwaldenfuneralhome. com
