Virginia Belle Logan Hernlund was born March 1, 1921, in Crowell, Texas and passed away July 18, 2004, after a valiant effort to overcome injuries suffered in an automobile accident on June 21, 2004. Ginny was a longtime resident of Austin and was a Meetings Planner for the Texas Society of Professional Engineers for many years before her retirement in 1997. She enjoyed her work and her association with TSPE was a highlight of her life. She loved the Lord and was a devoted member of the First Lakeview Church of Volente. She served on the board, did administrative work for the church, helped plant a multitude of ground cover on the grounds, loved to bake for any occasion that called for it, she prepared communion, and she especially looked forward to her weekly bible study groups. Ginny is preceded in death by her parents; son, Rick Hernlund; sisters, Bettye Bates and Minnie Trammel. She is survived by her daughter, Dee Logan-Hodnett and husband, John of Austin; son, Rob Hernlund and wife, Tami Treuhardt of Georgetown; grandchildren, Mark and Greg Marshall, and Kelson Treuhardt; great grandchildren, Matthew, Kate, and Benjamin Nicholas Marshall. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at Harrell Funeral Home in Austin. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Harrell Funeral Home in Austin. Pallbearers are Mark Marshall, Greg Marshall, Ken Bates, Larry Bates, James Kirk and John Hodnett. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Virginia's memory to First Lakeview Church of Volente, 14800 FM 2769, Leander, Texas 78641 or to a charity of your choice.
