Wana Leon Hammett

(09/28/2003) Wana Leon Hammett, age 70, of Austin, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2003. Mr. Hammett served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 - 1966 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was an employee of The Moerbe's - Cal's Classic Floors, ('77-'89) / Lone Star Carpet ('89-'03). He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyde Melvin and Nellie V. Hopper Hammett. Survivors include his wife, Dianne E.B. Lynch of Austin; son, Dale E. Hammett; daughter, Robie L. Hammett of Austin; son, Wana Eugene Hammett of Elgin; and daughter, Yvette S. Batham, of Red Rock; six grandchildren; and niece, Carolyn Carnevale of Asheboro, NC. Graveside services will be held 2:15 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2003, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
