I met Bill Lott about four decades ago. Through the years I appreciated his friendship, but mostly I enjoyed his joint interest in the rich history of Williamson County.

He was indeed "honorable"; not just from that title he received from being elected to the bench, but the way he lived his life.

He will be missed!

In 1957 Assistant County Attorney Bill Lott hired me for a summer job after I graduated from GHS. I was kept busy as the only office staff member for both him and the County Attorney in their office at the top of the stairs on the top floor of the Court House. He was a terrific boss and a great and kind man.

I met Judge Lott when I probated my mother's will. She said he was a honest person and someone I could talk to and trust. He truly had my mother's heart and and trust, he was a good person.

Bill ran and managed the Georgetown Railroad when I met him in the 60s. He went on to handle many great legal cases, topped only by his colorful stories as a Judge and later as a retiree. With deepest sympathy. Charles R. Burton

Jim and I respected Judge Lott and his professionalism in the Courtroom and the way he treated his friends. It was a pleasure for me, Frances, to have worked with him in the Courtroom and see the manner in which he presided over the court. It was a great experience.
Our sympathy to the family.

Judge Lott was a giant among the trial judges of Central Texas. He was truly of the "old school" and that was a dimension that is missed. After his retirement, when appearing occasionally as a "visiting judge" the morale of the Courthouse improved I thought. My profound sympathies to the entire family.

With deepest sympathy for my Uncle Bill, the last of a unique and colorful generation that will never be forgotten. I enjoyed your stories of driving cattle, your love for Amarillo and the law. God bless you and keep you.
