Christopher Shane Lowe

Salem - Christopher Shane Lowe, 45 was born April 18, 1975 in Salem, OR. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 7, 2020 in Salem. Christopher is the son of Melvin and Lorraine Lowe.

In his early years, Christopher was always seen with a happy smile, so much so that during swim lessons (age 3) his mouth was often wide open when jumping into the pool. He loved his big wheel and especially enjoyed flying down the soap box derby track at Bush Park with his brother, Shannon and friend, Tye Nagel racing down with him. In pre-adolescent years Chris played baseball for Parrish Little League and was always shooting hoops with dad and brother.

Early teen years found Christopher's passion turned to skateboarding and wow he was good whether on the street, a large ramp, jumping over shopping carts or whizzing around the Streets of San Francisco. He graduated from McKay High School in Salem in 1994, where he played varsity basketball.

Chris had a great affection for movies, music, especially blues, playing guitar and the great outdoors. Three of his favorite places to be was on the Oregon beaches, Flathead Lake, MT., or any place he could find snow. Snowy days always put a smile on his face.

Chris often said his best days were those when was able to help someone as he often did for his aunt Tricia, whom he loved so much.

Christopher never married but on July 31 , 2005 he fell hopelessly in love when his newborn baby girl was placed in his arms. Eliana Grace was then and throughout the past 15 years the breath he breathed. His happiest days and greatest times were time spent with her.

Christopher was preceded in death by his four grandparents, Noel and Emma Lowe and Eugene and Viola Ledford and Aunt Linda Tapley. He is survived by his parents, daughter, brother Shannon (Mary) of Keizer, sister Audra Blankenbaker (Aric) of Keizer, 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 5 aunts, 7 uncles and many cousins and friends.

Christopher accepted Jesus as His Savior as a child and though his youth took him into addictions and mishandling of his life, he returned to his Savior a few years ago and devoted his life to Jesus. He often shared scripture with people who would listen. He grew in his faith in God as he regularly watched Creflo Dollar and Charles Swindoll. His testimony is that God always found a way to get him to turn on one or the other at the just the time he needed a specific word of encouragement to keep him going and lift him from depression and hopelessness.

A Celebration of Life will be held Jan. 23 at 3:30pm at 990 Boone Rd. Due to Covid restrictions facial coverings and RSVP are required. Call Lorraine 503-910-5760. Assisting the family is Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
