Daniel Mink Obituary
December 21, 1969 - April 30, 2012
BEND - Dan passed April 30, 2012 at his home in Bend Oregon. Dan lived in Silverton with his parents Cathie and Michael Mink and he graduated from SHS in 1988. Dan is preceded in death by his twin brother David. He is survived by his wife Jennifer, son Tristin, daughter Madison, parents Cathie and Michael Mink, grandmother Mabel Mink, mother and father in-law Wally and Virginia Sessums, and a great number of extended family and friends.
Dan met Jennifer Sessums also of Silverton and after dating for some time decided to move together to Bend Oregon. Dan went to school and became a journeyman electrician. Dan and Jennifer were married on July 21, 1995 and were blessed with two beautiful and loving children, Tristin and Madison.
Dan was a warm and caring guy. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandson, uncle, cousin, and friend. At age seven Dan caught his fish and as the old saying goes he was hooked. It didn't matter if he was cat-fishing on the Snake, small mouth bass fishing on the John Day, fly fishing in central Oregon and steal head fishing on the Santiam river; one thing never changed and that was the big smile on his face and the twinkle in his eyes every time he caught a fish, and he caught a lot of fish. Dan was an accomplished hunter as well. Elk hunting in the Abiqua Basin with his dad and friend Mike Kyle was a yearly event. Dan could cover more ground in one day than most hunters would cover during the whole season. When Dan and Mike would jump a herd of elk it wasn't going to be a good day for the elk.
Dan was a great kid and a great son. We miss you, we loved you, rest in peace son. Later, Mom and Dad.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday May 12, 2012. 11am at South Salem Nazarene Church, 1661 Boone Rd SE, Salem Oregon. 503-364-7088

I remember going out to Mike and Cathie's house as a kid and all of us cousin were fishing the Abiqua Creek. I looked up river to watch Danny fly fish. He had the most majestic cast I have ever seen with a fly pole. I had always striven to be as good of a fisherman as Danny, but to no avail. When Danny was on the river heaven seemed to be on earth. Watching him fish was picturesque and beautiful. I haven't seen much to comes closer to perfection than that. Miss you and love you older cousin.

Dan, I enjoyed spending time with you and talking with you, usually it was about fishing or hunting. The best memory I have is when I first went to Grandma and Grandpa Minks, I think it was Christmas or Thanksgiving maybe, but every one of the "Mink Boys" made me feel really as uncomfortable as they could, except Dan, he told me their bark was bigger than their bite. Anyways, I wish we could have spent more time together, but I'm greatfull for the time we did. Christy and I will miss you lots, love ya
