Donald Cornelious Conat

February 28, 1924 - June 20, 2015

Donald Cornelius Conat, 91, passed away June 20th, 2015 in Keizer, OR. He was the husband of Blanche Conat. They shared 68 years of marriage together.

Born February 28, 1924 in Bemidji, MN, he was the son of Roy and Ella Conat. He graduated from Bemidji High School in 1942 and immediately joined the Navy. He served aboard the USS Somers during WWII. He had a long and varied set of jobs throughout life including minor league umpire. In more recent years he was the editor for both the McNary Estates and Avamere monthly newsletters. Both Don and his wife Blanche were extremely active in the Make a Wish Foundation. He enjoyed golf and a variety of other hobbies including travel, card games, puzzles, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife Blanche of Keizer, OR, children Terry Conat of Whitefish, MT, Richard Conat of Columbia Falls, MT, and Linda Carpenter of Mount Vernon, WA, as well as his 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his infant son Jeffery.
