Donna Olson Obituary

Donna Lee Olson

Silverton - Donna Lee Olson, 74, passed peacefully into eternal life the morning of April 15, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. With trust in God, she bravely endured her struggle with cancer for five years.

Donna was born February 12, 1947 in Silverton, Oregon to Richard and June Foster. She graduated from Silverton Union High in 1964 and then on February 19th, 1965 she married Robert Verne Olson, the love of her life. They settled in Silverton and began building a life together. 56-years later, their family now includes 4 children, 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was an exemplary homemaker, always looking after the needs of her family. Donna enjoyed family gatherings which always included lots of good food, musical instruments, and singing. An avid reader, she especially loved studying God's word and encouraging others with thoughtful notes and inspiring Bible verses. She always cherished her trips to the beach with loved ones where she could relax and reflect.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents Richard and June, her brother John, and her grandson Nathan. She is survived by her husband Robert, children Russel Olson (wife Rachel), Christine Parque (husband Phat), Gary Olson, Allen Olson (wife Kim), sister Linda Marsden Robertson, brother David Foster, 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her presence greatly.

A public viewing will take place at Unger Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 22 from 8am-5pm, and on Friday, April 23 from 8am-8pm. There will be a graveside service held May 1st at 1pm at Valley View Cemetery. The family asks that you would donate to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers. Glory to Jesus Christ!
