Evelyn Albertson Obituary
October 27, 1916 - February 24, 2011
PORTLAND - Sally was born in Valley City, North Dakota, October 27, 1916. She moved west to Tacoma with her parents, Henry and Anna Jenson, and her sister, Marjorie. She attended school and then the College of Puget Sound in Tacoma, graduating in 1939. There she met C. Gene Albertson. Gene and Sally married, and they served in United Methodist churches in Washington and Oregon throughout their lives.
Love of family, music, people, arts and crafts, and church filled Sally's days. She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Deines, Port Angeles, Wash.; children, Kathy Warnaca, Seattle, Margie Arvidson, Portland, Ron Albertson, Portland, Holly Albertson, Salem; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Daughter, Marilyn Neu, great grandson, Jack Warnaca and husband, Gene preceded her in death.
A celebration of Sally's life will be held at 2pm, Saturday, March 12, at Christ United Methodist Church, 12755 NW Dogwood St., Portland. Memorials to Christ United Methodist Church or the Marilyn J. As a child I spent much time at your home playing with Marilyn and Kathy and soaking up the sweetness of your mother's love. She always made me feel welcome while we watched the birth of kitties or pitted cherries for her yummy cherry pie. My family loved you all and I cherish my memories of Sally, Gene and Marilyn.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. She was such a sweet woman and beloved by all. She and Gene were family friends as well as church leaders and my sister and I have great memories of playing at the house. I miss you all and those good old days! I'm sorry that I'm not able to attend the service next weekend. Best wishes from Winona (Nona) Phelps.
