Many hugs and prayers for the Tavera family. My mom worked with Pancho at McKay many years ago and she spoke fondly of how much she loved working with him. She was working in the pass room and she always loved it when Pancho came in to check on her. He made an older woman feel very special and for that one simple gesture, I am grateful she knew him.

Pancho touched the lives of so many people, but most importantly the lives of young people. Yes, he was a wonderful baseball coach. But more importantly, he coached about how to have integrity and joy in your life. He will be missed. God bless you, Tavera family.

Yolanda, Francisco, Kasey, Alex and Noah, Esmeralda and Marco: From my family to all of you we send love, prayers, and my deepest condolences. Poncho could bring smiles out of anyone. I can remember a parent at the world series come up to our booths and was hotter than a hornet about a call made in play on the field and would not let it go grumbling and griping for a good 10 minutes. Sandi and Kelli Berg, Poncho and I were all rolling our eyes at each other as we were all trying to calm him...When Poncho got his turn at the parent it took him about 2 and a half sentences and had this guy laughing so hard I don't even think he remembered what he walked away from the game for...Poncho had such a huge, loving, heart for all the kids that crossed his path, his wife Kasey, and his parents and siblings. He left a great impression here and even though we think he may have exited this field too soon...he just got called up to the major leagues! Love you all, Kristi Frandsen-McKeown and Family

RIP, brother. You have left a mighty impression on all you came in contact with. Through your smile and drive you have changed the lives of many young people. May others pick up the work you started and continue your legacy. The community was a better place with you in it and Heaven will surely be blessed with your entrance.
