Kathy Jolley Obituary

Katherine Jean Jolley

July 10, 1974 - July 8, 2014

Kathy, passed away July 8, surrounded by loved ones. Although she was stricken with illness from the age of 15, she was known for a warm smile and great attitude in the face of her many health struggles. Her battle began in 1990 when she was diagnosed with renal failure. After an unsuccessful kidney transplant she endured many complications.

Over the years she had many caretakers each of whom would grow to love and care for her. Once you knew her story it was hard not to love and cherish her.

She loved all things purple and was an avid horror film fan. Kathy cherished her dog Barney and the memory of her beloved fiancé Harry Rupp.

Kathy was a member of the Boone Road Church of God where her services will be held at 6 PM Saturday, July 12.

She is survived by her mom Sharon Jolley, sisters Virginia and Debbie, brothers Bob, John, Bill and Jason.

I will remember Kathy always as one of her neighbors and she touched us all. Kathy was a creative spirit and she left her personal stamp on everyone and everywhere around her. She brought her wonderful family together and infused them with her creative energy. Every season or holiday was a new opportunity for Kathy to decorate. The front of her home reflected those occasions with new and often handmade decorations. What she couldn't do for herself her family did, they created a colorful peaceful back yard from scratch. Our little neighborhood was always alive with happy sounds of family and her precious dog Barney who is also adored by everyone. Barney's happy energy was a reflection of Kathy. Often I would meet people involved in the health care or health transportation business. Police, fire, nurses, taxi drivers, neighbors in other parts of the complex, even friends of mine would light up when I told them where I live. They would say, Oh! That's where Kathy Jolly lives; they all knew her and cared for her, she just had that angel sparkle. As long as I live here I will think of it as the place where Kathy Jolley lived, and I will miss her. God bless you, Kathy!

to the Jolley family
im a dialyis patient
at davita
and every so often
i would say hi
to Kathy

im sorry for your loss
but remember
she will always be around
in spirit

i wrote a poem
for you to have

poem/gift of life
this is dedicated
to Kathy

life is a gift
that comes
each way
as finding
hope as well
strength
it brings
on a new
way of life
as sharing
each ones
pain
in a different way
as life is a gift
of beauty
all away around
as everyone that
we know have troubles
which they often
hide from the world
as expressing the pain
do to health
one wishes
not to say so
but yet keeping
a smile on there face
do to pride
and let the sunshine
in with there
glory of there heart
as magic is in the air
to the best of life
as the angels are now
singing so sound
with the loved ones
greeting at the gate

Kathy was a great person to know. Although we never talked much at dialysis, she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this time of mourning.

I knew Kathy from our growing up years in school. As an adult, I had the pleasure of being part of her health care team. Kathy was a wonderful girl who grew up to be a beautiful lady that had an infectious smile. My thoughts and prayers to her family. She will be missed dearly.

To Jolley family, may beautiful memories of Kathy help sustain you during this time. May God's promise "...that He will do away with everything that causes us pain", comfort you.
