Margaret Brown Obituary

Margaret Lois Peggy Brown December 24, 1926 - July 25, 2009 WOODBURN - Peggy (Margaret) Brown is now one of God's little angels, after a brief battle with cancer and succumbing to the effects of a brain aneurysm. She has been reunited with her infant son, William in Heaven. Peggy was born in Orinda, California, a daughter to Bill and Ethel Pratt-Rush. She joined an older brother, David. They have all preceded her in death. She met her husband, Dan, her one and only love, through his sister and her best friend, Betty. they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this September 16. Dan and Peggy farmed in the Chico, California area for a number of years. After Dan became an insurance agent, they moved to Oregon where they bought an agency in Woodburn. Peggy assisted with the agency in several areas before her retirement. Peggy was a selfless and courageous lady. She had a kind and gentle spirit and was always putting others, especially her family before herself. Just 3 days before the brain injury, she had made the decision to schedule surgery and chemotherapy to treat her recently diagnosed cancer, despite the pain and discomfort she would have suffered with the treatment, just to lessen the impact of the disease on the family. God decided to take her home before she had to endure that. She is survived be her husband of almost 60 years, Dan; their three children, Sharon Fry (Erv) of Salem, Cindy Gordon of Salem, and Carl Brown (Laura) of Woodburn; as well as six grandchildren, Shannon Davidson (Bruce), Eric Brown (Michael), Karen Rael (Paul), Mat Ferron (Adrienne), Mark Ferron (Julie), and Bryce Gordon. She is also blessed with six great-grandchildren, Mary, Anabel, Alex, Joel, Katie, and Damian. She leaves behind her beloved dog, Chancey. They are all looking forward to the day they will see her again in Heaven. A public visitation has been planned for the afternoon of Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Cornwell Colonial Chapel between the hours of 1 and 5 p.m. And from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning, July 29, 2009. Private family committal will be held on Wednesday morning following the visitation at Belle Passi Memorial Mausoleum. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, July 29 at the Woodburn Christian Church, located at 126 Workman Dr. in Woodburn with a reception following, also at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or a local hospice.
