Steven Francis Lulay

October 11, 1989 - August 23, 2015

STAYTON - After a lifelong battle Steven, 25, bravely broke away the chains of Congenital Heart Defect and passed away in Portland. Born and raised in Stayton, Steven volunteered at the Sublimity Fire Department. He dreamed of being a Fire Fighter for the FDNY and would often read many books about New York firefighters and the rescue team. Steven loved to relax with his brothers while fishing and hunting, swimming, going for long drives in the country, spending time with his nieces and nephews, and playing with his dogs Teddy, Copper, Rusty, and Dahlia. He also loved going to his fathers job sites or working on projects around the house with his father as well. Steven is survived by his parents Steven J. and Ronelle Lulay of Stayton; maternal grandparents: Jerome and Lavone Grossman of Stayton; paternal grandmother: Jean Lulay of Salem; sisters: Tina Lulay and nephew Aidan Lulay of Stayton, Jennifer (Eric) Pantovich, nephews Drake, Carter and Niece Lydianna of Silverton, Amanda (Kenny) Foltz, niece Ellie and nephew Lucas of Lyons, and Mary (Brett) Bartlett of Lyons; brothers: Nick (Karrie) Lulay, nephew James of Baker City and Chris (Megan) Lulay of Ione; Steven is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Francis Lulay; and nieces, Maddilynn and Gracelynn Foltz. Vigil will be Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 6:30 pm and Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 11:00 am both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton, where he was a member.
