I was watching the D Day memorial on TV today and remembered years ago, to having the honor of meeting Mr. Shoemaker. I was working at a State Farm office where he was insured.
We got talking about his WWII service. I was so interested in his stories as my Father and 4 uncles also served in WWII.
A few days later he brought in his scrapbook for me to look at. It was amazing and I am so grateful and honored that he shared it with me.
I just looked at his obituary and learned that he passed in 2009.
I volunteer at the B-17 WWII museum in Salem and would like to learn more about his service to honor him at the museum.
If any of his relatives would like to contact me, my email is [email protected]. My name is Jan Harris.

I had the privilege to work with Willard (Willy) at Wal-Mart. He was a very caring man. He always had a smile and a story to tell. He will be missed.
