Larry Alton Harvey of Fernandina Beach, Fla., passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022.
He was born in Oconee County, S.C., to the late Frank Harvey and Frances Morton Harvey of Walhalla, S.C. He grew up in Walhalla, S.C., and is a graduate of Walhalla High School and Clemson University where he earned a bachelor's degree in industrial education.
Larry enjoyed a long career in the medical device industry spending most of his career with Zimmer Orthopedics as vice president of operations in Statesville, N.C., and Dover, Ohio.
Upon completing a successful career, he retired to Fernandina Beach, Fla., where he spent his days playing golf, boating, traveling with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren.
Larry leaves behind his spouse of 46 years, Nancy Harvey, of Fernandina Beach; son, Brad Harvey (Christina), their children, Chaplin and Tallulah of Simpsonville, S.C.; daughter, Suzanne Lewis (South), and their sons, Denver, Hampton, Will of Greenville, S.C.; brother, Steve Harvey (Debbie) of Walhalla, S.C.; and sister-in-law, Sue Ellen Duncan (Frank) of Winter Springs, Fla.
A memorial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 28, in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
Donations may be made in his memory to Nassau County Animal Services in Nassau County, Fla.
