Larry Johnson Obituary
Larry William Johnson, affectionately known as the "Pasta Man," 77, of Statesville, passed away, Thursday, April 15, at the Gordon Hospice House.
Larry was born July 20, 1943, in Iredell County, and was the son of the late Reid Edward Johnson and Veola Ireland Meadows. He was a graduate of Statesville High School, class of 1961. On Nov. 14, 1992, he married Lynda Robinson Johnson and together they were members of Western Avenue Baptist Church. Larry worked many years as a store manager of Woolworth in Georgia and North Carolina, and later became the owner/operator of Sub Express in Statesville, until he retired in August of 2008.
In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his daughter, Tamera J. Veppert (Ralph) of Westerville, Ohio; son, Christopher T. Johnson (Debra) of Lewis Center, Ohio; five grandchildren, Byron Utley, Paisley Johnson, Liane DeFalco, Branson Johnson and Cari Johnson; and brother, Bobby Johnson.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Preston William Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 18, at Western Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Spry officiating. The family will speak with friends following the service.
Memorials may be made to Western Avenue Baptist Church or Gordon Hospice House.

Hey Linda sorry for your loss ..i am the CNA that took care of your Dad at Brain Center and took care of Larrys Mom too.i remeber him telling to get lunch on at the sub place u all had up town..i will be praying for u all/
