Lonnie Bracken Obituary

Lonnie Paul Bracken, 70, of Boozie Lane, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Autumn Care of Mocksville. He was born Sept. 6, 1940, in Davie County to the late William Henry "Boozie" and Mattie Elvira Wood Bracken. Mr. Bracken was a retired farmer who loved the outdoors, farming and working with his tractor. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Bracken enjoyed reading and watching Westerns, but he especially enjoyed telling his grandchildren stories. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Louise Bracken; a sister, Pauline Myers; and three brothers, John Henry Bracken, Jerry Wayne Bracken and William Franklin Bracken. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Baity Bracken of the home; three children, Kimberly Cline of Yadkinville, Kenneth Bracken (Lisa) and Keith Bracken (Tracy), all of Mocksville; five grandchildren, Travis Bracken, Reanna Sizemore, Nichole Sizemore, Will Bracken and Nate Bracken; three step-grandchildren, Tabatha Lee, Allen Cline, Jr. and Adam Shelton; three step-great-grandchildren, Allen Cline, III, Sasha Cline and Savannah Lee; one sister, Nelia Elizabeth Bracken; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m., Wednesday, at Eaton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Philip Brande and Mr. Darren Crotts officiating. Interment will follow in Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, they request that memorials be considered for Autumn Care of Mocksville, 1007 Howard St., Mocksville, NC 27028; Hospice and Palliative CareCenter, 377 Hospital Street, Suite 103, Mocksville, NC 27028; or your local hospice.
