Monica Morrison STATESVILLE Monica Lang Morrison, 27, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born April 3, 1985, at Mather AFB, in Sacramento, Calif. and was the daughter of Barry L. Lang and Deborah Aycock Lang. Monica was a graduate of Statesville Christian School and Gardner-Webb University, receiving her B.A. in religion. She married Daniel Wayne Morrison, June 10, 2006, and became a loving wife, mother and homemaker for her family. She was a member of Front Street Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, nursery coordinator and a member of the missions team. She humbly served in other roles throughout the church and was also a former teacher at Primrose School, in Mooresville. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Morrison; one daughter, Abigail Ryleigh Morrison; and one son, Jackson Elliott Morrison. She is also survived by her parents, Barry and Deborah Lang; a sister, Meredith Lang; parents-in-law, Randy and Barbara Morrison and grandmother, Ethel "Granny" Morrison, all of States-ville; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. She is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins whom she dearly loved. A service to celebrate the life of Monica will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Front Street Baptist Church with the Revs. Tim Stutts and Norman Cannada officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday, Dec. 7, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the church.
