Wanda Blackmon STATESVILLE Wanda Kay Blackmon, 58, of Statesville, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013, at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born March 14, 1955 in Fayetteville and was the daughter of Frances Blackmon Sipe and the late Henry Furman Blackmon. Ms. Blackmon was a graduate of Seventy-First High school and East Carolina University. She was a loving sister, mother, and grandmother that will be greatly missed. In addition to her father she was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Blackmon. Along with her mother, Frances Sipe, she is also survived by a stepfather, Thomas Sipe, of Mount Holly; a daughter, Allison Privette (Frankie), of Statesville; a son, Chad Flory, of Statesville; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Privette; and grandson, Nathan Flory. She is further survived by a sister, Roxanne Bennett (Dennis), of Charlotte; two brothers, Phil Blackmon (Deborah), of Stanley, and Richard Blackmon, of Mocksville; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 3, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Jason Ollenberger officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
