Charles Bandy Obituary

Charles "Mike" Bandy, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Aug. 30, 2016, in St. Augustine. Mike was a caring and gentle husband to his wife, Katherine Bandy, for 33 years. He always brought joy to his family and friends as a charismatic and humorous man. Mike could take a joke and definitely give them out too. Along with his quick wit, Mike also had an overwhelming sweet tooth. His love for anything sweet was only surpassed by the love he had for his family and his dog, Rummy, who was his loyal sidekick.
Mike Bandy was a combat decorated veteran who served proudly in the Vietnam War. He was born in Ashtabula, Ohio, and spent his younger years in Knoxville, Tennessee, before settling in St. Augustine. Mike enjoyed spending his time offshore fishing, deer hunting, riding his Harley and spending time with his beloved wife, Kathy.
His life will be forever cherished by his wife, Katherine Bandy; son, Scott Bandy; step-son, Ian Watson; his loving mother, Dory Norris; and siblings: Melanie Leach, Tim Bandy, John Bandy, Caren Goode and Carl Bandy. He also leaves behind two granddaughters and many friends that he loved dearly.
As he got his love for the ocean from his deceased father, Charles Gates Bandy, Mike had requested his ashes be cast at sea on a smooth day surrounded by close family, as were his father's.
Arrangements are under the care of St. Johns Family Funeral Home.
