He was a great person who always thought of others first.I know his place in Heaven has a first-class seat.I will always remember his good nature to everyone, his great hogcalls that made everyone smile. May God be with his family and friends in this time of deep sorrow.

We have lived in Florida for 30 years and when we met Eddie I knew we had met the real Florida Gentleman. He was the most genuine and understanding and loving man we have ever met. He devoted his time to helping Paulette Cothran and Austin and their family and ours with raising money for the Diabetes fundraisers we had. He took interest in diabetes and helping hisself and others around him with the disease. If we attended a party or dinner and he wasn't there he was truly missed. He always added the spark needed to make everyone feel comfortable. He was an inspiration to us and will forever be in our memory. He will be missed tremendously. Our thoughts go to Rita and the family. We loved you Eddie.

He had lived a full and rich life with many gems of joy planted in his rough and down to earth exterior. What can I say about Uncle Eddie--there are no words to sum up his simple and true spirit. I think about Daryl the pig praying, hog calling contests, how he put tar of his hat, grease in his hair, gardening, costume contests, putting on plays in his garage, his Minorcan-southern accent and tan, hard work in dark blue pants, smoked mullet, selling him sugar free candy from those magazines from elementary school, swinging on his swing, parties in the smoke house, feeding his pigs frozen dunkin donuts, sweeping his roof in the summer with Amy, cool homemade Christmas presents, his laugh, his rough hands that pat your back when they give warm hugs, his old house that always seemed like a fantasy land for Amy and I, and learning forgiveness at every age. Those memories of him will ever remain with me. His uncomplicated manner is something that I will always strive for. I love you Uncle Eddie.

Dear Rita & Family,
I am so sorry for your loss, I loved him like a second father and always knew he had a special place in his heart for me as well. he carried a picture of me from when I was in second grade and showed it to me on the day I was married to show me that I was still part of his life. The world was a better place for him being here and we will miss him.
With Love,
Teresa Barlow (Schneider)
