James Callahan, 73, passed away at his residence on July 3, 2010, with his family by his side. He was born in Natick, Mass., on Nov. 10, 1936.
James worked as a manager of The New England Telephone Company in Massachussetts and Maine until his retirement in 1990.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Elkton, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation to the American Cancer Society or Haven Hospice of Florida, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606
He is preceded in death by his son, James Callahan III.
He is survived by his wife, Michelina Callahan, of Elkton; daughter Brenda (Mark) Burton, of Diamond Head, Miss.; sons Daniel (Pam) Callahan, of Norfolk, Mass., Brian (Dawn) Callahan, of North Bridge, Mass., and Michael (Kim) Callahan, of Milford, Mass.; sister Gail (James) Collari, of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother Jon (Terry) Callahan, of Wellesleg, Mass.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.
