Jason Stewart Obituary

Jason Nathaniel Stewart, age 32 of St. Augustine, FL passed away at his home April 26, 2018. He was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine. Jason attended and graduated from the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind starting there at the age of 3 in the Pre-K blind program and stayed until the age of 21 via the post grad program. Jason enjoyed living life and anyone he met became an immediate friend. Most were met with an often repeated phrase "Your beautiful" or "Your handsome". These two phrases brought smiles and joy to the recipients and great fulfillment to Jason. Jason would attend many sporting events when his younger brother or sister played and many more at Flagler College where he was a vocal and enthusiastic fan. Independence was what Jason wanted the most. While blind from birth, he wanted to do whatever he could on his own. He especially liked holding doors at stores, markets, or church for people; inevitably following a thank you with a big "YOUR WELCOME". Living with a variety of medical conditions Jason never had an unhappy day in his life. He loved his whole big family including Maternal grandparents Robert and Helen Crotty, uncles and aunts, Evelyn (Mike) Friermood, John (Pat) Crotty, Patty Steck, Barb (Rusty) Warnick, Eileen (Steve) Austria, Mike (Cathy) Crotty, Bill (Jenni) Crotty, Claudia Young, Katie (Wes) Young and 21 cousins and 19 second cousins unconditionally.
Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Donald and Edith Stewart and two uncles Doug Steck and Wayne Stewart
A memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday May 11, 2018 at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Tim Lindenfelser, Pastor Celebrant assisted by Rev. Bryan Ott.
Jason is survived by his parents: Dan and Mary Ellen Stewart, sister Megan E. Stewart, brother and sister in law Joshua and Caitlyn Stewart and nephew Jaxon Daniel. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Special Olympics of St. Johns County (230 Queen Rd. St Augustine FL 32086) or the St. Anastasia Catholic Church Building fund (5205 A1A South St Augustine FL 32080).
Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is in charge of the arrangements.
