He was very active in the Lions Club and in the Baptist church both there and in St. Augustine.
He returned to El Paso and graduated from the University of Texas, El Paso.
Upon retirement, Jack became a property appraiser until 1994, when he returned to St. Augustine. He is a member of the Ancient City Lions Club and the men's Sunday school class at Ancient City Baptist Church.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at Ancient City Baptist Church with the Rev. George Wagner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Ancient City Baptist Church.

Uncle Jack spent a lot of time with me when I was small. I especially fondly remember the summer I spent in Los Alamos with him. He shared my interest in Indian artifacts. My family had the opportunity to spend several days in Florida with him when our boys were young. It was fun. He had a positive attitude towards life and a happy disposition, and we will miss him. Jack and I were born so close together we were raised like twins, sort of like the Bobbsey twins. I dearly dearly loved my brother and was his protector as a child and a helper through his illnesses. I loved him very much, as i love his wife Myrtle.
