I knew Kathy Hynes when I went to school at St John´s Lutheran with her daughter Rachel and her son Gabriel.
It was back in 86-87 so during my 7 th and 8th grade years
Kathy Hynes was the first person I still think of when I think of the first person I saw and felt the kindness and gentleness of Jesus
I´m 52 years old now , and that made a lasting impression on me what being lead by the Holy Spirit looked like

As the 6 year anniversary of Kathy's Homegoing approaches this Tuesday, her light continues to shine in all of us who knew & loved her. She comes to mind within our family on numerous occasions with her sense of humor, her wisdom & her gifting . Whenever I see a homeless individual or a misunderstood person as I go throughout my days, I have a "What would Jesus/Kathy do?" moment. In watching her be the arms & feet of Christ, this side of heaven, she taught us all, how to really love.
Until we meet again. . . .

As we near the two-year mark of Kathy going to heaven, I have to say I miss her still and always will. She was a positive, joyful, unique, loving soul and friend. No wonder God wanted her with Him in heaven. I am so glad I will see her again. Love you, Kathy. Always will. Sue Martin-Crowell

Kathy Kading Hynes and her wonderful husband Patrick have been the very most profound experience of my life. I think of them every single day. They took me into the heart of their beautiful family and gave me true friendship, respect, security, and support when I would not have survived without it. They put me on my feet. There are no better friends to anyone, anywhere. I just now learned of her passing. I'm stunned . Heartsick. I owe Kathy and Patrick so much fathom it all. I always thought that I would visit with Kathy and Pat and hug and reminisce. Too many "some days". I am going to miss knowing that she is just not out there anymore. I am going to miss her annual family Christmas letter. Patrick, I am so very sorry to learn of your tremendous loss and so late. I would have very much liked to have flown out to her service. This news really hurts. “He maketh her feet like Hynes' feet: and setteth her upon my high places.” Love to all she has shined her cheery life upon! Mike Wulfman

We are so sad to learn of Kathy's passing. Kathy will always hold a special place in our hearts. Not only for her sweet spirit and strong faith, but also because she was instrumental in reuniting us after years apart. Now 28+ years later, we continue to be happily married and will always give Kathy the credit for making it happen. Our deepest sympathies to you, Pat, and to your family.

My heart aches for you, your children and grandchildren. Kathy had an infectious smile and brilliant blue eyes. I remember the first time we met in Colorado in the early 90's and thinking we could be friends! and we were. I always loved receiving her Christmas letters; she had a way with words, for sure!
The strong foundation and roots Kathy planted within your family tree honor her life. She will be remembered & celebrated thru her love, honor, goodness and generosity. Kathy's wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in our hearts. She was a truly lovable and kind person and will be missed.
When we lose a loved one here on earth, we gain an angel in heaven that watches over us.
We send our heartfelt condolences and love.

I attended Ogden Avenue School, LaGrange Park, Illinois in sixth grade (1960/1961). I was a classmate of Kathy's. I recall the following episode regularly and vividly. Sixth grade music class: several classmates volunteered (perhaps weeks in advance) to perform in an in-class "talent show", organized by the teacher. Kathy, together with two other female classmates, must have rehearsed extensively in order to perform the song "Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue" as an acapella trio. Not only was their singing great, but the apparel worn by these three performers, consisting of (faux) furs and costume jewelry, was extraordinary.
I am so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. God bless.

I did not know Kathy very long but I found her to be a loving, kind person. I interviewed with her at Windsor Place to determine if my parents could move in there. They did move in and I was so delighted to have them around Kathys great energy. I was so sad to hear she was going to move to Florida. She was so sweet and made a huge impression on my whole family. I am saddened to learn of her passing. She and the family are in my prayers.

Everyone who knew Kathy will ever remember her all-embracing warmth and love. She was a joy to sing with, laugh with, and talk with about life's mysteries. Her Christmas letters delighted, no matter what time of year they arrived. Goodbye to the beautiful woman in blue.

Kathy, your beautiful smile and those blue eyes that shined Jesus' light will truly be missed. A beautiful spirit leaving this place too soon is now jazzing that piano with all the saints and angels above! Pat and family, May you rest in His peace, continue in His strength and courage as you get through this time in your lives. So very sorry...

Kathy was one of the kindest, funniest, most loving, and most accepting people I have ever known. She was a family friend, but she was so much more than that to me. I can't remember a time when I was with her that I wasn't laughing and living life fully, on some adventure. She was that kind of person- full of life and spirit, contagious with love and exuberance.
It was at their home in Colorado where I was baptized by Pat, and Kathy always checked in on me through the years. She was that kind of light in so many people's lives. I remember all of her stories of all of the lives she cared so genuinely for regardless of her moves around the country. When you were with her you felt so deeply cared about and important. I count myself so blessed to have been in her world.
We miss you and there will always be empty space here that you filled. Knowing you're in heaven with our maker only makes me even more excited to be there one day. I love you, Kathy.
My deepest love and prayers for you, Pat and family. ❤

Kathy brought love, laughter and joy into everyone's lives, and she lived and loved with exuberance. She has been a favorite friend for 56 years (and Pat for 58). Living on opposite coasts of Florida gave us many opportunities to get together.
We actually met briefly in 5th grade when all of La Grange's elementary schools sent a representative to the annual "Pet Parade", and we giggled our way through it. But it wasn't until high school that we really got to know each other well. Special memories include Young Life Camp in Colorado, visiting Augustana College to check it out, helping at her wedding, and so much more.
She had such an ability to be compassionate and sensitive to one's needs. Her fortitude and faith provide me a source of solace at this difficult time. It's hard but I know she would want us all to smile and wish her
adieu and eternal peace.

We look forward to The Great Reunion in Glory with Kathy and all the believers but in the meantime , our hearts are hurting for u, her loved ones and ourselves and all of us who treasured our special relationships with her. May we all feel the comfort of the Holy Spirit as we keep alive Kathy's love for her Lord, her precious family, those she knew well AND the person on the street who needed a kind word or some help. She will be sorely missed. I was at the store yesterday and for a fleeting second, thought I saw her across the way. I didn't see her nearly enough in the past many years but ran into her at Publix often, and she was always inquisitive about my life and had kind words to share. Our community will mourn the loss of this incredible woman. Love to the Hynes family. xo
Miss you

It would be impossible to fully express the depth of positive influence Kathy had on my life. She was an example of faith, hope, as a mother, wife, friend and Christian. We were friends for 41 years and I already miss her terribly. She is irreplaceable. ❤ Love you Kathy.

Words can not express how much Kathy Hynes has changed the trajectory of my life. She has brought so much love and light into the lives around her.
I will remember her beautiful smile, her intuitive eyes, and most of all her uniquely clever and silly ways she told a story. I am forever grateful to have been graced with her prescence, knowledge and beauty.
My sincere condolences to the Hynes family and to all that considered her a friend.
