Muriel Kuster

1926 - 2015

Muriel Kuster (nee Theriault), 88, of St. Augustine, formally of North Smithfield, R.I., passed away July 16, 2015, with her son by her side at the Bailey Family Center for Caring in St. Augustine. Muriel was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Kuster. Born in 1926, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Corinne Theriault of Rhode Island. She worked as a licensed practical nurse since 1946 in the former Woonsocket Hospital, Woonsocket, R.I., and also in St. Augustine General Hospital and numerous health care organizations in St. Augustine from 1976 to 2002 while actively maintaining her license. Muriel is survived by her children Lt. Col. Robert E. Kuster II and his wife Kim Folsom-Kuster of Virginia and Charlotte Kuster of Rhode Island. She was the mother of the late Suzanne (Kuster) Pignolet. Muriel has two grandsons, Peter Pignolet and Robert E Kuster III, who lit up her life and presented the inspiration for her long, glorious life. She is also the sister of Bert Theriault and his wife Terry of Blackstone, Mass., and Doris Staudinger, wife of the late John Staudinger of Virginia.
A funeral mass will be held 9 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
A vigil service will be held 5 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2015, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with the viewing continuing until 7 p.m.
Donations in her memory may be made to Muriel's favorite charity, St. Jude's Children Hospital.
