Rochelle Gagne Obituary

Rochelle Gagne
Rochelle Gagne also known as Rockie, a nickname given to her by her husband of 62 years.
"Jesus had his rock Peter", and she was Ron's rock. His steady rudder. As a young woman she was an aerobatic dancer and not only loved to swim, but loved to take part in swimming races, though she never won she loved the competition. As a young woman, she worked as a telephone operator and later she worked for New England Telephone in Boston where Ron found the love of his life.
In later years after having two children Robert and Pauline, she went to work for Bay Bank and Trust for a few years and then went to work for Beverly National Bank doing what she loved best; becoming the voice of the bank. She was a popular telephone operator all around the city of Beverly, Massachusetts.
In 1983 Ron was ordained in the Roman Catholic Church after 4 years of study at St. John's Seminary where she also attended classes. They arrived in St. Augustine on April 19, 1999 going to Mass in the "little" church of St. Anastasia Parish. Shortly thereafter, she became Ron's partner baking and making coffee for Ron's Bible Study. She was a past president of SALA.
At the dedication of the new church in September, she participated with Joan Lucian to wipe the Chrism off the new Altar. Later she began the process known as Dementia and later entered a nursing home which eventually caused her to pass from this world to the next on February 23, 2021 at the Bailey Hospice Center after suffering a terrible accident.
A Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday March 13, 2021 at St Anastasia Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Tim Lindenfelser, Pastor officiating.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Bailey Hospice Center, St. Augustine.
